Lining linoleum as a floor covering

According to one of the technologies, in order for the flooring to have the best properties, synthetic materials are placed on a wood or cement base. Similar materials include various plates and linoleum. The durability and strength of these floor materials at a relatively affordable price made them very popular for use in the floor decoration. In addition, experts belong to the positive properties of these floor materials softness, small thermal conductivity and ease of use.

Linoleum, according to the styling technology, can be glued to the floor using special glue, or you can simply lay it down by adjusting the size of the room, and fixed with a baseboard or ordinary wooden rail. Quite often linoleum is offered for purchase in the form of large sheets. And for normal laying it must be cut in size and be sure to put it so that the external pattern coincides on the surface of the linoleum. In order for linoleum to do not puff and not create folds after laying, it is recommended to make small incisions in the angular folds of linoleum. Cutting the excess linoleum when laying as a flooring, you should leave a small supply to perfectly close the entire floor surface.

Usually linoleum is sold in rolls, and its canvas can have a standard width. Today, for purchase in specialized stores, linoleum is offered with a width of a canvas from 1 to 2 meters. Linoleum can be thin single -layer, or can have a double insulated basis. The thickness of the standard linoleum can fluctuate from 2 to 5 mm, depending on the variety and the quality of the flooring.

Most often this floor covering has a fabric or paper base. When laying linoleum as a flooring, as a rule, trims remain. They can simply be thrown away, making sure that garbage collection is carried out in a timely manner, or use the remains to decorate other smaller rooms.

You can glue linoleum using the ready -made special glue, but there are options when linoleum is attached to the floor surface using mastic or pasta produced in artisanal conditions. In order to cook mastic or paste to lay linoleum, use special recipes and proportions. Before the process of linoleum stickers to the floor surface is performed, the surface is thoroughly leveled, cleaned and prepared. If the floor surface is made of a strict board, it makes sense to put a layer of plywood on top so that the board does not vibrate when walking.
