Extract for the kitchen

In recent years, the hood has become an integral part of the kitchen. Before buying it, you need to pay attention to some things. First of all, these are such characteristics as performance that allows you to evaluate the transmitted volume of air over a certain period, and the created pressure of the air, with the help of which we can judge the possibility of overcoming the ventilation channel.

Productivity is indicated under ideal conditions when resistance = 0. Further, the duct joins the hood and the real situation is simulated, in which the power is again determined. The third performance value is measured in artificially created conditions in the presence of resistance to air.

To know what performance of the hood is necessary in each case, it is necessary to calculate the volume of the kitchen in M3 and multiply the resulting value by 12. You can use an extract with greater power, but choose the average mode of operation.

Secondly, you need to know if the hood will join external ventilation or not. It is better, of course, so that it connects to it, since in this case smells, hot air and fat are removed from the room. The diameter of the air duct should be larger or equal to the diameter of the connecting flange, and on the airbrush itself the bends should not be sharp so as not to prevent the extract of the hood.

The duct should be made of thick foil so as not to rustle when passing the air flow along it, and smooth, since fat and soot settled in corrugated folds, on which bacteria begin to multiply over time.

If the hood will work in recirculation mode, then its effectiveness will be 1/3 less, and in addition, it will be necessary to change the filter monthly.

Thirdly, select the type of hood: flat, built -in or dome.

Flat are located above the plate and equipped with disposable filters. Their power is small and they work on the principle of recirculation.

Built -in hoods are attached to the suspension cabinet above the stove, and thus, the hood itself is not visible. They can have a retractable panel that increases the working area and allows you to capture a larger air volume. Filters in them are reusable.

The dome hood is installed on the wall or on the ceiling above the stove. They are diverse in design, materials, sizes and technical indicators.

If the hood will work in recirculation mode, then you need to think about filters in advance. They can be fat -down (disposable or reusable) and coal.

You should know in advance what level of noise will be issued an extract during operation. The level of not higher than 40 dB will be comfortable.
