One of the most effective personal management techniques is the popular Pomodoro technique. In various variations, many have probably heard about it, but there is almost no one of anyone more specificly what Pomodoro is.
How to use the Pomodoro time saving technique
The idea of Pomodoro was invented by an ordinary Italian student Francesco Chirillo in the distant 80s, when many students were depressed after passing the first exam, as a result of which, continuing to study further, did not understand what most of the precious time was spent on. Until now, at the onset of each exam, practically no student can fully prepare, although, it would seem, it all the time went to study. As a result, Kirillo decided to try to study truly, at least for a short time-10 minutes. To realize this goal, an ordinary kitchen timer was used, outwardly stylized as a tomato. That is how the technique got its strange name, and after years of research, practitioners and experiments appeared in the form in which it is now known.
What is the use of Pomodoro technology
In the modern era of continuous abstracts, when almost any element of the environment tries to distract the attention of the user, it is extremely important to be able to manage personal time. And it is with the help of Pomodoro technology and other alternative technicians in time management that you can significantly increase your productivity by performing more useful work in less time.
According to the creator of equipment, the main goals in effective work should be as follows: support for determination in achieving the goals; improvement of the educational and/or work process; increasing the efficiency of study and/or work; the development of determination to continue to act even in complicated situations. It should be borne in mind that Pomodoro is just a technique, that is, a tool that will help to achieve the desired result, everything else still depends on the user.
What is the essence of Pomodoro technology
The technique is universal and suitable for both study and work, but still more often it is used in the second case, for this example, work processes will be taken as an example.
Equal segments of the time for which the work is divided are conditionally called “tomatoes”. One such “tomato” lasts exactly half an hour, of which the work takes 25 minutes, and the remaining 5 minutes is a vacation. More than more and more studies appear annually, which talk about the effectiveness of wider periods of time, but it is better to take the initial indicators as a basis for a novice user.
How to use the Pomodoro time saving technique
Before starting the timer, the user must make a list of planned work tasks. For this purpose, you can use both a simple notebook and one of the many applications and services. When compiling a list, more important tasks are recorded first, and secondary and lungs at the end. After the list is completed, the timer is installed for exactly 25 minutes, and the user starts to work.
As soon as the timer expires, the time of a five -minute rest comes. During this period, you can not deal with working affairs, it is best to relax and completely distract from working moments. Then again the 25-minute working period begins and t.D. Each segment is marked with a cross opposite the task at the moment, and every four marked crosses are a longer break instead of a five -minute – from 15 minutes to half an hour. The completed task is deleted from the list, and the user proceeds to the next.
