Self -laying the parquet is quite simple and does not require special skills.
For high -quality laying parquet, you must have an even floor. It should be dry, a special device is used to check the dryness of the screed or checked using a film that is laid for a day or night. If condensation was under the film, then the floor is raw and not suitable for styling. It must be remembered that long seams should be located parallel to the falling light, otherwise they will be highlighted. Between the board and the walls you need to leave a gap of about 1 cm. The temperature in the room should be maintained at 20 degrees.
The following methods are applicable for laying parquet with your own hands: on a warm floor, a “floating” method, on lags, on glue or second layer.
1. Laying on glue. For this laying method, the Wood Bee Parquet board is ideal. Before starting work, furniture is taken out of the room and the floors of the old coating are cleaned. Remove garbage and dust, primed, close up all uneven areas. If necessary, they make waterproofing. Using chipboard or plywood will improve sound – and thermal insulation. For this, a sheet of 1 cm thick is suitable. Chipboard and plywood is fixed using dowels. The parquet board is laid on the plywood, fixing it with the help of glue, which is applied to the floor or board with a uniform layer. Castles do not smear glue. The edges of the parquet are fixed with self -tapping screws or brackets. After the work done, you need to leave the parquet for several days.
2. Laying a parquet board with your own hands in a “floating” way. For styling in this way it is also necessary to have an even and dry floor. Previously, a film is creeping on the floor, which will protect it from moisture and steam, as well as a special substrate with heat and soundproofing properties. In addition, it will not be superfluous to put a cork substrate. Parquet is laid without the use of glue, in this case it is fastened only with locks. Immediately upon completion of work, the parquet is suitable for its use, but it is better to put heavy furniture a few days after laying.
3. To lay parquet on a warm floor, it is better to select boards of small thickness so that heat passes better. In this method of laying neither the substrate nor the film is used. Parquet laying can be carried out on glue and in a “floating” way.
4. If the parquet is placed on the lags, then they must be dried. A parquet board is used with a thickness of at least 22 mm. The air current should be provided to the space between the board and the lags. With the help of self -tapping screws, a plywood sheet is attached to the lags. To increase the stiffness of the floor, plywood sheets are checked in a checkerboard pattern. Parquet is fixed, as in the previous method, glue or “floating” method.
5. The second layer parquet is laid exclusively “floating way”. Wooden floor, dry carpet and linoleum will act here as a sound, heat and waterproofing material.
