For more than forty years, sprayed polyurethane foam has been used in construction for heat – and waterproofing, however, due to the relative high cost of the technological process, this type of isolation was used only where it was impossible to apply another type. These are, first of all, oil and gas facilities with hard operating conditions. Today, thanks to the development of technologies and reducing economic costs, the drilled polyurethane waterproofing is much wider use, and is introduced into private suburban construction at a very rapid pace. The mainly sprayed polyurethane foam is used in the isolation of roofs, facades, basements and foundations of low -rise buildings.
Modern polyurethane foam has many advantages. If we compare it with many other thermal insulation materials, the PPU has almost the lowest thermal conductivity indicator – from 0.019 W/m to. up to 0.023 W/m to. Due to its structure (more than 95% of the pores are closed), the sprayed PPU is a good waterproofing material, and can be used to completely isolate roofs, basements and foundations.
Drunk polyurethane foam is obtained when mixing two liquid components: complex polyester and polyisost. Typically, the components of which the material consist of are delivered to the construction site separately, mixed in a pistol pistol and after that are sprayed onto an isolated surface. In a few seconds, the resulting mixture is foamed and hardens.
PPU isolation is very durable, the declared service life of the insulation is 50 years. PPU does not rot, does not change its beneficial properties under the influence of atmospheric precipitation. Protecting this material from ultraviolet rays can be simple staining. PPU can be applied to the surface of almost any configuration, thereby providing a homogeneous seamless coating. Possessing good adhesion, it can be spilled on wood, concrete, metal, glass, it rests equally well both on the horizontal and on the vertical surface, as well as on the ceilings. Even at extreme extreme temperatures -60 and +150, PPU does not lose its physical and mechanical properties and perfectly fulfills its main purpose. PPU does not support combustion, is environmentally friendly material, which is confirmed by hygienic and fire certificates. It is not subject to decay and negative effects of microorganisms. If necessary, the PPU is easily drilled, pierced or cut by conventional tools.
For the effective waterproofing of foundations and basements, there is enough PPU with a thickness of 1 cm and a density of 400-800 kg/m. When insulating the facades, additional materials and fasteners are not required. When arranging the insulation of roofs, dismantling the old coating is not required, and the technology of applying PPU allows you to cover the roof of any configuration. With proper operation, the coating does not need to be updated and repaired throughout the entire service life. In addition, due to the small weight and good strength characteristics of the PPU, layers of any thickness can be applied to the processed surface. The pluses of polyurethane foam heat-hydro-insulation include the fact that it is made, as mentioned above, right at the place of application. This allows you to greatly accelerate the work of work. All of the above allows us to say that sprayed polyurethane foam isolation is great for use in various fields of construction, combining ease of use and excellent operational qualities.
