The design of the greenhouse and how to choose it?

Many summer residents and farmers soon or later begin to think about how to make a greenhouse or greenhouse, especially if they are going to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, pepper and some other thermophilic cultures that require certain conditions for growth and fruiting. In addition, the greenhouse can protect these plants from frosts in early autumn and late spring.

So what you need to know when buying or arranging a greenhouse?

The main thing is the frame. It is recommended to choose a steel galvanized frame with a rectangular profile that withstands heavy loads than round.

When choosing a coating, give preference to polycarbonate, not glass. This material is somewhat more expensive, but safe, perfectly holds heat, and the slight weight makes it more economical, in addition, such a greenhouse is easy to transfer to another place.

What should be a polycarbonate for a greenhouse? Its surface should have protection against ultraviolet rays – this role is played by a layer of ultraviolet stabilizer. In addition, this defense significantly extends the service life of the coating-from 3-4 to 15 years.

The size of the greenhouse or greenhouse largely depends on the size of the site and the convenience of the owner. However, most often put greenhouses of 3×6 m or 2.5×6 m. In such greenhouses, 3-4 bushes of tomatoes, eggplant or peppers or 5-6 bushes of cucumbers are planted per square meter. The minimum height of the greenhouse in the cornice is 1.65 m, under the skate – 2.4 m. believe is usually made 1.8×0.6 m. Inside you can equip either two beds on the sides and the path between them, or three beds and two paths.

If the greenhouse is not heated, the plants are planted in a certain time. In April, you can plant onions and dill, cabbage and radishes for seedlings, while to protect against frosts it is recommended to close them with thin non -woven material. In early May, the seedlings of cucumbers, tomatoes and eggplants are planted for hardening, but only for a day – at night they are cleaned in warmer places. The final planting of seedlings occurs no earlier than the end of May.

Experts do not advise growing cucumbers and tomatoes in the bottom greenhouse, since they require different microclimate. High humidity, which is favorable for cucumbers, causes a sticking of pollen in tomatoes and a poor tie of fruits. If there is no room for the second greenhouse or greenhouse, part of the available greenhouse is fenced off with plastic film, which leads to an increase in humidity and the absence of drafts. In the “tomato” part of the greenhouse there will be ventilated dryness, ideal for tomatoes. In such greenhouses, you need to change cucumbers and tomatoes every year every year, as well as from time to time to update the earth.
