One of the reasons why the air conditioning can “flow” is the failure of its drainage system. There may be several reasons for this:
– lack of regular service during operation in very dusty rooms;
– When installing the system, an error is made, and the drainage hose does not have sufficient inclination for condensate itself. In addition, possible sagging, excesses, poor -quality compounds can also cause clogging of a drainage hose;
– The drainage pallet is established so that the edge where the drain hole is located is higher, the opposite. This causes stagnation of condensate in the lower part of the pallet, the formation of dirt and the gradual overlap of the drain hole;
– The length of the drainage hose significantly exceeds the permissible, specified in the technical description of this model.
The clogged drainage system leads to the appearance of unpleasant extraneous smells, the formation of microbes and fungi, which begin to grow rapidly, affecting the entire inner part of the split system: evaporator, fan, housing walls, etc. The condensate formed during operation begins to flow out of the case, falling on the walls, furniture, flooring.
You can clean the clogged drainage system in several ways.
The easiest is washing with water or fluid for washing, which is able to dissolve fat and weak pollution.
With stronger pollution, drainage must be disconnected, rinse and blow out with compressed air.
In the case when the drainage system was so closed that the first two methods do not bring any results – it is necessary to flush the block with its complete disassembly. At the same time, you will have to disassemble almost the entire split system. This work will take considerable time and can be carried out only by highly qualified masters.
Summing up the above, it is worth noting that clogging of the drainage system is a long process that can occur for years. This happens most often when service is absent, or is carried out extremely irregular. In order for the split system to work properly, it is recommended to turn it off at least 2-3 times a week for 30-40 minutes. During this time, the evaporator warms up and dries, and the bacteria accumulated on it will most likely die. When turned on, it is recommended that the air conditioner work for 8-10 minutes at maximum speed in ventilation mode.
