Unfortunately, it will not be an exaggeration to say that not all subordinates are satisfied with their boss. Someone just does not like his boss a little, and someone is just panicky afraid to go to his office. But, if you are dear to your work and the option of dismissal, you do not even hypothetically consider it, then there is only one way out for you – find a common language with your employer. How can this be done?
First of all, take a closer look at your leader – no matter how unpleasant he is, but he is also a person who has his negative and positive qualities. It is possible that after the next negative assessment of your work your boss it seems to you that there is nothing positive in it – but this is still not so. Therefore, start the search for a common language with the boss precisely by highlighting for yourself everything that is good in him. Be objective – so if you work in a private company, then your boss is clearly well developed by the businessman’s talent, but if your team never has an Avaralov, then yours should state the fact that your boss can organize the work of your team well.
It will be easier for you to find a common language with your leader if you become not only mentally noticing his positive qualities, but also, at a convenient case, voice your thoughts. Naturally, this must be done very carefully and only when there is a good reason for this – for example, the anniversary of your company, a corporate holiday or your boss’s birthday. In your speech, do not exaggerate the bright sides of the character of your leader, otherwise it will be perceived by him and others like flattery, which, most likely, will lead to the opposite result.
To achieve your goal, try to always attend corporate parties, where your boss, just like your colleagues, is liberated and becomes more open to communicating with subordinates. Try to know his hobbies or hobbies tactfully – it may well turn out that he, like you, is fond of, for example, fishing or chess. Such a coincidence of interests will help you support an informal conversation with your leader. If you don’t have common hobbies, do not despair – in the end, you can always try to chat with your boss on common topics – weather or politics. Just do not turn your conversation into a dispute, even if you think your point of view is the only right one – it is better to leave your conversation unfinished and promise your opponent to clarify the details that caused disagreements and continue the conversation after a while. This will allow you not to look for a reason for further informal communication with your boss.
Unfortunately, there are also cases when it is practically unable to find a common language with the boss. Perhaps the best way out in this situation is a change in the place of work, but if this is not your option, then you have only one thing left – try to adapt to the style of the leadership of your chef. Perform the tasks as the head of the assignment calmly and without emotions, even if you think that they are not entirely true, follow the labor discipline so as not to provoke your leader, follow the dress code if he is present in your company, and then your relationship with the boss will be even and purely business, which is also not bad.
As you can see, to find a common language with the leader, you can apply a few tactics. Choosing the only one that will lead you to the goal, proceed from the situation that has developed in your team. After all, all people are different, and a single recipe in this serious issue cannot be.
