Dry screed – advantages over traditional

How best to make floor alignment? I must say that the housing stock of some cities is quite specific, many houses of the old building. And the cold season lasts quite a long time. From here there are problems with the fact that the traditional floor screed in the apartment can not always be completed.

But in fact, this often turns out to be the better, since it is quite realistic to arrange a dry screed, which has recently finded more and more use, both in the reconstruction of old houses and in the construction of new.

In the old housing stock in general, in most cases, a dry screed is the only way out to make normal grounds. The fact is that such a screed gives a lower load on the supporting structures. The most appropriate is its device in the cold season, when the floor screed in the apartment in the usual way using cement-sand solution is simply impossible.

Work on aligning the base with a dry screed does not require the use of cement and concrete. And this means that there will be no “wet” works and related time losses. The very essence of the base of the base with a dry screed is that the irregularities of the floor are covered with dry backfill, and then a dry screed from special sheet material is covered on top of it.

The device of dry screed without fail requires the creation of a special moisture insulation layer. If there is no such layer, then the floor can be deformed, and the appearance of the flooring will be hopelessly damaged. As a rule, pergamine, polyethylene film or other special materials are allowed for moisture insulation.

When arranging a black floor with a dry screed, you need not to forget about sound insulation. For its device, a gap is left around the entire perimeter of the room, no more than 10 millimeters wide. Sound insulation is a special tape, which is made of mineral or glass wool.

Sound and waterproofing arrange backfill. Folding is a bulk material as which expanded clay, fine -grained slag and various varieties of sand is usually used.

After laying the filling on top of it, plaster sheets are laid. The most popular are the prefabricated KNAUF fields. Sheets of the prefabricated base are laid in one or two layers, fixing with each other with special glue or self -tapping screws. After the installation is completed, the seams are put off and thoroughly grind.

It should be noted that the work on the device of dry screed requires a rather high qualification, as well as with any work on the arrangement of the black floor. Therefore, it is best to trust the implementation of such work to professionals. They know how best to make the floor alignment and will always give the right advice on how to spend less funds and get a qualitative result.
