Choice of tiles

During the repair in the kitchen or in the bathroom, most people are faced with a problem associated with the choice of ceramic tiles. Manufacturers from around the world offer a huge selection of various textures and their colors, which often confuses. It is difficult to choose a high -quality product from this variety that would be perfect for a certain room. Ceramic tiles in Kyiv are on sale in many specialized stores, and today we will help you with its choice.

Image on the package

Drawings on the packaging of ceramic tiles have a certain value. So, the image of the foot means that this tile is flooring, and the same shaded image indicates its increased wear resistance. The icon of the hand suggests that this is a wall collection, and the snowflake determines that this finishing material is frost -resistant. PEI labeling shows the degree of wear resistance. The softest finishing material is determined by the inscription “Pei-I”, and the most durable-“Pei-V”. It is recommended to finish only walls. “Pei-II” is useful for the floor, but in the event that they only go on it only in room shoes. “Pei-III”-can be used in residential premises and offices, where frequent visits to people are expected. “Pei-IV”-for residential premises and public places where the intensity of movement is small. It is recommended to use tiles with the PEI-V marking in public rooms with a large flow of movement.

The degree of moisture resistance.

In its resistance to moisture, the tile is divided into 8 groups. The degree of extrusion is usually marked with letters “A” and “B”. The most moisture resistant are the groups “A -I” and “B – I”. Tiles of these groups absorbs up to 3% moisture. Groups “A-I” I and “B-II”-up to 6% and further on the growing. 10% or more moisture can absorb the tile of the A-III group. Tiles belonging to the first three groups do not crack in the cold and it can be used on the street. The remaining groups are suitable for decoration indoors. In the bathroom and in the kitchen, it is best to put the tile of group I and II.

Stability to chemical influences.

This indicator determines which room can be finished with a particular tile. Marking “AA” means that ceramics are not amenable to chemical influences, which means it is useful for the bathroom or kitchen. One letter “A” speaks of small effects on the appearance of ceramic tiles, “B” – medium, and the letter “C” is marked with tiles, which, when exposed to chemicals, will absolutely lose its appearance.

Ceramic tile variety.

This is an indicator of its quality. It is determined by color on the packaging or on one of the edges of the tile. Red color determines the 1st variety, blue-2nd, and green-3rd. If the packaging with green marking contains a large number of defective tiles, you can not be surprised. The edges of low -quality tiles may well be crooked.

Having sorted out the marking and choosing more suitable from many options, you need to closely consider the tile itself. Its surface must necessarily be smooth, smooth, and also do not have cracks, chips, otterblin, foreign inclusions, and bulges. All these are signs of poor -quality goods. If you attach two tiles to each other the front sides, then ideally there should not be the slightest glee between them.

When choosing a floor tile for the bathroom, you should definitely check if it is slippery. To avoid errors, it is better to choose a rough surface. You can also drop water on the tile and try your finger to the touch. If the tiles are slippery, then it is definitely not suitable for decorating the bathroom, where the danger of injuries is increased already.

Aesthetic type of finishing material, important when choosing ceramics design. In relation to color, there are certain tips and recommendations, because the color of ceramic tiles has an effect, both on the spatial sensation of the room and on emotional perception. For example, a room in light colors visually seems wider and it tunes to positive, and dark colors give the room comfort, but in some cases unpleasant thoughts can cause. The visual perception of the room may depend on the size of ceramics. Large tiles will visually reduce the room, but it will be easier and faster to lay. Small tiles will add open spaces, but work will take much more time.

And at the end, another, no less important point. Despite the current stereotypes, Russian -made ceramic tiles are not inferior in quality to imported analogues. The price is much lower for her. In addition, by purchasing a tile of foreign production, there is a possibility of buying a fake for a lot of money. Therefore, ceramic tiles should be chosen not in the country-producer, but to the liking and quality.
