Building materials. Acrylic paints

Of particular popularity among building materials used for painting walls indoors and facades of buildings are acrylic paints (other building materials you will find here :).

Polyacrilates provide dried paint with resistance to water and fire safety. In addition, they have a number of other advantages. An important plus is their environmental friendliness and the lack of an unpleasant pungent odor.

Given these properties, this material is often used to decorate children’s rooms and bedrooms.

Acrylic paints compared to the rest have a chemical composition, as safe as possible to human health. They are also good because they are easily tinted. With the help of special tinting paints or paste acrylic paint, you can always give the desired shade and color. The lack of the desired shade in the color palette of the manufacturer is not a reason for despair, if we are talking about this material.

Acrylic paints are an indispensable assistant not only for the decoration of the interior. They are great and as paint for buildings facades.

Polyacrylate material has a water -repellent effect. Are resistant to UV radiation and do not burn out under the sun’s rays. The facade painted with this material for a long time retains its original color. The coating of acrylic paints, despite the layer that is impermeable for water, is a “breathing” that can pass air.

The downside is that they are not suitable for painting buildings, the foundations of which have insufficient waterproofing – damp, coming from the walls themselves, often leads to sprinkling.

To reduce the cost of the value of acrylic paints, copolymers are often added to their composition, which are a binder, like acrylate. The use of copolymers makes them affordable, but they are inferior in quality, physical and chemical characteristics of acrylates -based paints.

Acrylic paints can be used for painting concrete and metal surfaces, for plaster. However, it should be borne in mind that acrylic paint on plaster can only be applied a month after completion of work, not earlier.

Such building material as acrylic paint, light in use, dries quickly and flushes well with tools. At the same time, acrylic paints are characterized by durability – the service life is more than 15 years.
