Tower “Russia” will not be the highest in Europe

The Moscow authorities finally announced their decision about the sensational project Viktor Rashnikov and Shalva Chigirinsky – the Tower “Russia”. As you know, a project that has been distinguished by its ambitiousness, for a long five years “lay on a shelf” in the capital’s “City”. And now a decision has been made – a skyscraper with an area of 300 thousand. square meters! Although in a somewhat cut -out version. The height of the tower has almost doubled, and instead of the declared 612 meters will be only 360.

As reports “RBC Daily”, the parameters of the development project in the business center “Moscow City” in mid-February approved the GZK of Moscow. The protocol of the commission recorded that LLC “ST Tauers” has the right to start the construction on the site 17-18 of the multifunctional complex, the area of which will be 350 thousand. square meters with parking for almost three thousand seats.

According to the permission of the Moscow authorities, offices, a hotel with apartments, as well as all kinds of retail trade pavilions will be located in this center. The area of the complex will be about 295 thousand. M2. Throughout the month, “ST Tauers” should receive from the Moskomarchitecture a urban planning plan for the development of this site.

As you know, this megaproject started in 2007 in the plans of the builders was the construction of the highest skyscraper and Casino in Europe, 612 meters high and a total area of about 500 thousand m2. The concept of the project was developed by the famous architect from Great Britain Norman Foster specifically for the company Viktor Rashnikov and Shalva Chigirinsky.

However, already in 2008 it was stated that the project was not financed and due to this cannot be realized. For many years, the fate of Russia was uncertain.

However, Chigirinsky could not solve all the problems of his business, as a result of which the main investor of the project will be Viktor Rashnikov, who owns the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant, which previously performed in the project of the Russia tower as an equal partner of Chigirinsky. In the summer of 2011, at that time the first deputymer of the capital, Vladimir Resin, announced that instead of Shalva Chigirinsky, his younger brother Alexander, owner of the “Snegiri Development”, will act as an investor in the project.

It remains to add that due to the reduction in the height of the Russia Tower, the highest building of the Moscow City MMDC can be the Federation Complex, the height of the highest spire of which, according to preliminary estimates, will reach 506 meters.
