The heating system with a liquid fuel boiler is completely autonomous, but also one of the most expensive. In household boilers, diesel fuel is used as liquid fuel. For its storage, it is necessary to equip a special container. Typically, a plastic or metal tank is used for these purposes.
Do not forget that a specific smell comes from diesel fuel, so it is better to take care of in advance about the tightness of the fuel tanks and ventilation of the room of the boiler room. During the operation of the boiler, the fuel completely evaporates, and its pairs are burned in a mixture of air. At the same time, a large amount of sulfuric discharge is condensed on the walls of the boiler, the amount of which increases at a reduced temperature of the coolant. In hot water boilers with heat exchange surfaces of cast iron, the amount of condensate is less than in boilers with steel tubes, so most often in liquid -fuel boilers they use cast iron, which significantly increases their weight and makes it sensitive to blowing during transportation. Also, most boilers are supplied with a protective and control automation system, which makes their operation safe and allows you to save fuel. Boilers can be either with a constant burner designed to burn only liquid fuel, or with replaceable burners, which allow the use of gas as fuel.
But it must be borne in mind that a hinged gas burner can be equal to the cost of the boiler itself. Burners are mainly fan, t. e. with forced air supply to the combustion chamber, which creates an increased level of noise from them. It is also necessary to provide for the heating of the fuel line, since at a temperature below +5ºС diesel fuel thickens, which can cause interruptions in the boiler and an increased level of harmful emissions.
The consumption of fuel boiler can be calculated according to the close formula:
Fuel consumption (kg/hour) = burner power (kW) x 0.1.
Advantages
• Independence from gas supply
• high boiler automation level
• efficiency reaches 94%
• There is no need to be installed
Flaws
• Liquid fuel boilers and hinged burners are more expensive than boilers, on other types of fuel
• High noise
• It is necessary to install a separate container for fuel, and constant replenishment of its stock
• Fuel must be cleaned by passing through a thin cleaning filter, the absence of a filter can lead to a boiler breakdown
• For the boiler you need a specially equipped room
• Automation of the boiler depends on the supply of electricity
The widespread spread of such boilers is prevented by the high cost of diesel fuel, the high cost of the boiler itself and the need to equip the boiler room and tanks for fuel. Nevertheless, such boilers occupy their market niche, for example, if the settlement is not gasified, there is no way to highlight the electrical power for heating or a higher level of automation is required than when operating a solid fuel boiler.
